The elevator industry is in great need of trainedtechnicianswith up-to-date skills. That is why Motum is committed to providing high-quality training for elevator technicians. The job of an elevator technician is a hands-on and varied role that involves spending a lot of time in the field installing, modernizing, servicing, and repairing elevators. You will have a great deal of independence and will be able to plan your work largely on your own.
In the fall of 2022, the Motum Group launched its own training program for elevator technicians. The program consists of a one-year basic training course and a six-month advanced training course. During the basic training, students are hired on a fixed-term contract with a salary at one of Motum’s subsidiaries, and upon successful completion of the program, they will be offered a position at the same company. Following the basic training, there is an opportunity for a 6-month advanced training program with a focus on practical training. The practical components of the training will be conducted at the place of employment, while the theoretical components will primarily be carried out at the Group’s training center, Motum Academy in Stockholm.
The one-year undergraduate program includes a total of approximately 28 weeks of internships.
The 6-month advanced training program includes a total of approximately 20 weeks of internship.
There are about 4–5 sessions in Stockholm per semester. Each session lasts between 1 and 3 weeks. In total, you should expect to spend about 12 weeks in Stockholm during the first semester, about 6 weeks in Stockholm during the second semester, and about 3–4 weeks in Stockholm during the third semester.
Yes, Motum arranges accommodations during the theoretical sessions held in Stockholm.
If you are accepted into the program, you will be paid the minimum wage for the profession during the academic year.
The starting salary after graduation is determined in consultation with the hiring company and is set at a level commensurate with that of a new hire in that location.
To become certified in electrical work, you need to take a course in electrical theory or practical electrical work. We do not have a specific course that we recommend.
